As part of Ontario’s new Energy Efficiency programs, Save On Energy has expanded its funding to include financial incentives for the implementation of an energy management information system (EMIS) under their retrofit program. Here’s what an EMIS can do for you:

Program Eligibility
Below is a list of recipients and project activities that are eligible for the new
Save On Energy EMIS incentive.
Eligible Sectors
Industrial facilities in the following sectors are eligible:
- NAICS 11: Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting
- NAICS 21: Mining, Quarrying, Oil and Gas Extraction
- NAICS 22: Utilities
- NAICS 23: Construction
- NAICS 31, 32, 33: Manufacturing
- NAICS 48: Transportation and Warehousing
- NAICS 56:Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services

Eligible costs are directly related to the procurement and implementation of the EMIS and limited to:
Program Requirements
In addition to the above eligibility, to receive Save On Energy’s EMIS incentive, the following requirements must be met for funding:
- The EMIS must comply with NRCan’s Guidelines, ISO 50001, or Superior Energy Performance-certified energy management systems.
- EMIS must be installed by a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with a valid license, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or a Certified Engineering Technologist with experience implementing EMIS.
- The facility must provide proof of an energy management policy and a designated energy manager.
- Facility must provide a Measurement, Verification,, and Reporting (MV&R) plan.
