As part of Ontario’s new Energy Efficiency programs, Save On Energy has expanded its funding to include financial incentives for the implementation of an energy management information system (EMIS) under their retrofit program. Here’s what an EMIS can do for you:

Below is a list of recipients and project activities that are eligible for the new 
Save On Energy EMIS incentive.

Industrial facilities in the following sectors are eligible:

Demand Response Hero

Eligible Costs

Eligible costs are directly related to the procurement and implementation of the EMIS and limited to:

  • Cost of equipment purchased
  • Cost of labour for equipment installed by third party
  • Cost to prepare the project M&V Plan
  • Program Requirements

    In addition to the above eligibility, to receive Save On Energy’s EMIS incentive, the following requirements must be met for funding:

    • The EMIS must comply with NRCan’s Guidelines, ISO 50001, or Superior Energy Performance-certified energy management systems.
    • EMIS must be installed by a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with a valid license, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or a Certified Engineering Technologist with experience implementing EMIS.
    • The facility must provide proof of an energy management policy and a designated energy manager.
    • Facility must provide a Measurement, Verification,, and Reporting (MV&R) plan.
