Role Summary

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving growth and expanding Edgecom Energy’s market presence in Ontario, Alberta & Select US States. You will work with large energy consumers to deliver tailored solutions that enhance their energy efficiency, reduce costs, and meet sustainability goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to promote Edgecom Energy’s bundled offerings, including AI Energy CoPilot, pTrack®, dataTrackTM, and NeuraCharge.
  • Client Engagement: Identify and engage with key decision-makers in industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors to understand their energy needs and present customized solutions.
  • Education: Promote Edgecom Energy’s solutions through educational sessions, webinars, and regular outreach presentations, demonstrating deep knowledge and understanding of energy markets across various regions.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare compelling proposals, collaborate with the product management and development teams to act as the customer’s advocate, and assist in resolving any issues that arise.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with energy managers, facility managers, operations teams, and C-level executives.
  • Quarterly Business Reviews: Conduct quarterly business review meetings with key customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Market Expansion: Lead efforts to grow Edgecom Energy’s footprint in Ontario and Alberta by attending industry events, networking, and creating business opportunities.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage a robust sales pipeline, accurately forecast sales performance, and work toward meeting and exceeding targets.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in B2B sales, preferably in energy, technology, or sustainability
    sectors.
  • Energy Markets Knowledge: Understanding of Energy Markets, ICI Programs, Capacity Auction,
    Operating Reserve, etc. is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Being well-versed in Energy, Demand Side Management, Grid Programs,
    market trends, AI, IoT and related topics is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify
    complex technical concepts.
  • Results-Driven: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within Ontario and Alberta for client meetings and industry events.

You will be reporting directly to the CTO. You will get a hands-on perspective of the energy transition as it’s happening in real time, working with some of the largest and most sophisticated energy consumers in the world. You will be at the forefront of tech, sustainability, and energy in a mission-driven start-up.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop innovative energy management and sustainability software tools.
  • Develop new user-facing features. 
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Collaborate with back-end engineers to influence architecture of current and future APIs

Skills You Bring

  • Passion and understanding of energy management and sustainability reporting tools, electricity and energy markets and programs. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Extensive experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and time-series databases. 
  • Experience with designing and developing RESTful and gRPC.
  • Strong experience with Python or other programming languages like Golang.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. 
  • Comfortable working with third-party dependencies and debugging conflict.s 
  • Proven understanding of Agile development methodologies.
