Behdad Bahrami

In 2016, leveraging his firsthand industry insights, Behdad founded Edgecom Energy to address inefficiencies in industrial energy management. Under his leadership, the company has developed cutting-edge tools, enabling large energy consumers to optimize consumption, reduce costs, and lower emissions. These innovations have earned Edgecom accolades such as the ABB Startup Challenge 2024, Shell’s New Energy Challenge 2024 and recognition as a CIX Top 20 Early Growth company.
Behdad’s contributions to the energy industry have been recognized with several awards, including Energy Innovator of the Year 2024 by the Association of Energy Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McMaster University and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).
Mehdi Parvizi
PhD, P.Eng
At Edgecom Energy, Mehdi leads the development of cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of AI, the grid, and the energy transition. Under his technical leadership, Edgecom Energy won the ABB Startup Challenge 2024 and secured strategic investment from ABB Electrification Ventures.
Mehdi’s expertise spans cloud computing, AI-driven analytics, IoT integrations, energy management, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integration. He is recognized as a thought leader in the energy sector, frequently contributing insights on the application of AI in energy management and the transition to clean electricity.
Nasreddine Guerfala
MBA, P.Eng, MSc, CEM®, CMVP®
Nasreddine Guerfala is a professional engineer with 15 years of experience in the energy efficiency and sustainability field in North Africa, Canada, and the United States. At Edgecom Energy, Nasreddine drives NeuraCharge sales and revenue growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and close collaboration with the DER team. Previously, he was the Director, Energy for a district energy company in Toronto (Enwave) and Manager, Strategy and Business Development for Hydro One. Nasreddine served as Vice President Pre-Construction for SunGrid Solutions and Vice President Business Development for TruGrid, an EPC company in Solar and Battery storage in Canada and the US. Nasreddine was also the President of the Association of Energy Engineers Greater Toronto Area chapter (2022-2024).

Robert Weir, P.Eng
Rob is an energy executive with over 20 years of experience driving innovation across Canada, the U.S., and Australia. He began his career in the natural gas sector with Union Gas and the Westcoast Energy companies, gaining a solid foundation in utility operations and commercial markets. In Australia, Rob contributed to the development of large-scale cogeneration projects during the deregulation of Victoria’s electricity market. He later moved to New York City, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Constellation NewEnergy, a leading electric energy retailer in the C&I space.
Rob has held executive roles in clean tech and distributed energy, including COO at Demand Power Group and President of Sunwave Gas & Power. He is currently Vice President of Distributed Energy Resources at Edgecom Energy, where he leads the market development of NeuraCharge, a cutting-edge EMS platform for Microgrids and Virtual Power Plants. Rob holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Colin is passionate about helping organizations optimize energy usage, drive operational efficiency, and achieve sustainability goals through cutting-edge Energy Management solutions. He specializes in partnering with medium-sized to large enterprises to transform their energy management strategies.

Tanner Behrend, seasoned in policy, funding, and business development, specializes in energy and sustainability. With a Bachelor of Engineering in Green Process Engineering, he blends tech expertise with environmental dedication. As the VP of Strategic Growth at Edgecom Energy, he shapes Edgecom Energy’s trajectory with his leadership, innovation, and tech solutions for sustainability. Previously, Christine served as Director of Product Management at Konverge Digital Solutions, where she successfully led product growth initiatives. Her expertise lies in translating technical solutions into clear, compelling value propositions that resonate with customers and drive business results.
Christine holds a BA (Honours) in Anthropology from the University of Victoria, a Project Management Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Certified Digital Marketing Expert designation from the Digital Marketing Institute. She is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at the Ivey Business School, with an expected graduation in January 2026. He was a visiting researcher at the Microgrid Research Lab of Aalborg University, Denmark. With a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Queen’s University and a PhD in power system engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology, Saeid combines his deep knowledge of energy with industry insight to deliver transformative solutions.

Mehdi Parvizi is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Edgecom Energy, a Toronto-based cleantech company pioneering AI-driven solutions for industrial energy management. He holds a Ph.D. in Power and Energy Systems from the University of Waterloo, where his research focused on frequency and voltage control in islanded microgrids. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario. His academic work has been cited extensively in the fields of microgrids, distributed energy resource planning, and data mining for energy systems.
