Automated peak response

Curtailment Automation

Curtail without anyone watching the clock. Knowing a peak is coming only saves money if someone acts in time. Edgecom closes the loop, from an alert with a plan attached to assets that respond on their own, always inside hard limits your operators set.

Savings Without Touching Output

Your Limits Are Hard Limits

Automation only works if the plant trusts it. Start with alerts and a curtailment plan, then let AutoPilot dispatch your assets automatically when you are ready.

  • You set the limitsTemperatures, run times and critical equipment are defined by your team and never crossed.
  • Days of noticePeak calls arrive early enough to schedule around, so curtailment is planned instead of disruptive.
  • Simulate before deployTest a curtailment plan with every output kept local before it goes live.

Behind the Meter

Built for Commercial and Industrial Sites

Cut what you spend on peaks. Avoid what you are charged. Prove the reduction happened.

Your response to peaks now happens automatically

Demand charges can represent up to 50% of a commercial electricity bill. Operators usually know a peak is coming. The problem is that every step between the signal and the response runs through a person. When peak probability crosses your threshold or a demand response event is called, AutoPilot runs your curtailment plan. Loads step down, your team is notified and the event is logged, all in seconds.

Automate every curtailment with Edi

Edi, Edgecom’s agentic AI energy manager, runs your curtailment sequence the moment a peak or grid signal arrives, then confirms the load drop and records the result, so savings never depend on someone being on shift.

  • Peak and grid triggersStart your sequence from a pTrack® peak signal or a grid operator call.
  • Staged load sequencesShed HVAC, compressors and process loads in the order you set, with safe limits.
  • Auditable event logEvery curtailment logged with load reduced against target.

No code required. Start from a template, test it with Simulate Before Deploy, and go live in under 30 minutes.

How It Works

From Alert to Automatic, on Your Terms

  1. Alert With a Plan Attached

Forecast peaks, grid activations and consumption anomalies reach the people who can act, with a curtailment plan, not just a warning.

  2. Your Plan, Your Limits

Choose which assets respond and by how much. Build it by drag and drop, or describe it to the AI CoPilot in plain English.

  3. Fully Automatic Dispatch

When a grid event triggers, AutoPilot starts the generator, discharges the battery, adjusts HVAC and notifies the site team. No one has to be watching.

FAQ

Curtailment Automation FAQ

Will curtailment automation disrupt production?

No. Your operating limits are hard limits. Temperatures, run times and critical equipment are defined by your team and never crossed, and loads that are critical to production can be left out of the plan entirely.

Which assets can it control?

HVAC, batteries, backup generators, process loads, EV charging and on-site generation connected to the Edgecom platform, through Edgecom IoT hardware or open APIs to the building systems you already have.

What starts a curtailment event?

pTrack’s coincident peak probability crossing your threshold, a grid operator demand response event, a consumption anomaly, or a schedule.

Can I start with alerts only?

Yes. Start with alerts and a curtailment plan delivered by email, SMS or voice, then let AutoPilot dispatch your assets automatically when you are ready.

How are savings verified?

Every event is written to the curtailment log. The baseline calculator compares live consumption against your program baseline, and the cost engine applies your rate schedule, so each event comes with a verifiable reduction and dollar figure.

The Loop Runs Itself

Assets respond to grid events automatically, standby equipment becomes a revenue source and operations keep running. See what curtailment automation would do at your site.
